Further budget cuts of mental health services will cost taxpayers far more in increased costs in public hospitals, emergency police calls, inappropriate utilization of emergency room services, involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations

  • No services will be available for clients who want to step down from high intensity services. Client’s recovery will be interrupted by not having the appropriate services available for their recovery journey.

 

  • Clients currently served at the RST’s will have no other options for services due to the reductions or elimination of other mental health programs. This will increase the potential risk of suicide, homicide, homelessness, and criminal activity.

 

  • Potential increase in the abuse and neglect of clients who are unable to speak out for themselves and need the safety net of their community provider.

 

  • No providers will be available to assist with applications and subsequent forms for SSI, Medi-Cal, SSDI, and SDI.

 

  • No providers available for clients with Shelter Plus Care certificates who need monthly visitations in order to maintain their housing.
